This is a blog of my interim project: a research project into how we perceive our heritage to be as compared to mitochondrial DNA, which is strictly a matrilinear component of our genome. During the course of this project I will be collecting DNA, sequencing mtDNA and comparing the results of the DNA sequencing to surveys taken by the participants.

The Mitochondria
This is a representation of Mitochondria that I've painted earlier this year for another project.
I'm a student at Wofford college, studying Biology, Psychology and Neuroscience. I May not be the best of my class, but I'm passionate about what I learn.
